The Wolcott State Fire School is operated under the Waterbury Area Chief’s Association. We are a non-profit organization that delivers high quality fire service training primary to the nine towns in the Waterbury area including Cheshire, Prospect Naugatuck, Middlebury, Terryville, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, and Wolcott. The school is located on Boundline Road in Wolcott Connecticut

 

A local school committee comprised of representatives from each area department governs the school. A director, deputy director, lead instructors, and instructors fill the operating organizational structure of the school. Current staff level is at 30 members

 

 

We offer primarily Firefighter I and II training, but also include hazardous materials, confined space, rope, extrication and various refresher training.

 

The Wolcott Fire School receives an annual grant from the Connecticut Fireman’s Association of approximately $48,000.00 to fund all training activities, utilities,  equipment purchase and maintenance.
